Terrence 'Terry' Bonitz was born March 27, 1982, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of Terrence Allen and Darlene Olivia (Shepperd) Wood Bonitz of Accident, Md., and Robin Louise Mohr of Virginia Beach, Va.. He died as a result of a motorcycle racing accident.
Mr. Bonitz was a mechanic for Morgantown Honda and a member of Morgantown Honda Race Team. He is survived by a son, Riley Kahne Bonitz; grandparents, Anthony J. and Vernetta 'Mickey' Bonitz, York, and Louise Lucille Shepperd, White Hall, Md.; five sisters, Jamie Bonitz, McHenry, Md., Amy, Olivia and Abygayle Bonitz, all of Accident, Md., and Cathryn Bonitz, Towson, Md.; and a step-brother, Charles Wood, Parkton, Md.

He was born in Harrisburg on February 11th, 1936, to the late John T. Bonitz, Sr. and Sylvia Mae (DeDee) Bonitz of Harrisburg.
He was the co-founder of Bonitz Brothers Wholesale Sporting Goods. After retirement from Bonitz Brothers, Bob became a real estate developer. He was a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and Susquehanna Township High School, Class of 1954. Bob loved Penn State and he was a member of the Penn State Boosters. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wild life conservation. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ann L. (Todd) Bonitz; son, Robert L. Bonitz, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Harrisburg; daughter, Leann B. Creamer and her husband, Benjamin, of Elizabethtown; brother, John T. Bonitz, Jr., of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Abigail and Amber Creamer, Robert L., III, Anntoinette and Luke Bonitz.
3 Jan 2010deceasedElla Johanna (Bonitz) Meiselwitz, age 91, died in Sheboygan, WI, USA.
She passed away after a courageous battle with various medical conditions. Born January 11, 1918, in Mellen, Wisconsin, Ella was a daughter of the late Albin and Martha (Schneider) Bonitz. Her parents were born and married in Saxony, Germany. They came to the U.S. in 1909.
Ella graduated from Mellen High School in 1935. She then completed secretarial school at the Wausau Business School, Wausau, Wisconsin. She worked for a number of years as the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Mellen, where she met her husband, Rolf, who was a high school commercial teacher.
Ella and Rolf C. Meiselwitz, of Kiel, Wisconsin, were married on December 26, 1941, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mellen, where she had been baptized and confirmed. The couple returned to Kiel and resided there after the war where Rolf returned to teaching. Ella then worked as secretary to the Superintendent of the Kiel School District for approximately 24 years. She was well respected and appreciated in all her endeavors. Ella also worked part-time at Steibel's Ladies Apparel, for Kiel Attorney Jim Ungrodt, and for the Interior Source in New Holstein as a bookkeeper.
Her husband, Rolf preceded her in death on June 23. 1976.
Ella was involved in and served as an officer for many volunteer activities including the Manitowoc County Library Board, the Kiel Library Board, the Kiel Study Club, the Kiel Historical Society, the Professional Secretary's Association-Sheboygan Chapter, the local chapter of AAL, and the Calumet Homestead Auxiliary.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, where as a confessed Christian she taught Sunday school, youth Bible studies, sang in the choir, visited the elderly, and served as officer and member in Trinity Ladies Aid Society for many years. Ella had many interests including home decorating, apple picking, collecting coins and other memorabilia, potting plants, attending her sewing circle meetings, reading books and poetry and listening to music. She was self taught on the piano and could play almost any hymn or song by ear. She enjoyed golfing with friends, hiking with relatives, and traveling with her daughter and other relatives. She especially enjoyed visiting and corresponding with her many relatives and friends.
Survivors include her four children, daughter, Martha (Ron) Gribbins, St. Louis, MO, three sons, John and William Meiselwitz, Town of Sheboygan, Rev. Robert (Cindy) Meiselwitz, Round Lake Park, IL; her five grandchildren, grandsons, John Gribbins, Washington D.C., Timothy (Sharon) Meiselwitz, Round Lake Beach, IL and Michael Gribbins, St. Louis, MO; granddaughters, Rebekah Meiselwitz, Gilbert, AZ and Katelyn Meiselwitz, Round Lake Park, IL; great-grandsons, Noah and Amos Meiselwitz, Round Lake Beach; one brother, Walter (Dorothy) Bonitz, St. Paul, MN; one sister, Edna Becker, Castro Valley, CA; one sister-in-law, Joanne Bonitz, Spencer, WI, and many nieces, nephews and several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Frieda (Bill) Koosmann, Helen (Earl) Langley, Gertrude (George) Brand; and two brothers, Ernest Bonitz, Herman Bonitz (killed in action D-Day in Normandy in World War II).

Harry A. Bonitz, born in Boonton, NJ, a resident of Mine Hill for 61 years, died suddenly at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown on Saturday, January 2, 2010, just 2 months after his wife Helen's death. He was a surveyor for NJ Highway Department of Transportation, Newark, retiring in early 1990's after more than 40 years.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving as Army Sergeant in 16th Armored Division. He was a member of Mine Hill Presbyterian Church, Mine Hill.
Survived by daughter, Susan Bonitz and husband Dan Lundell of Raritan Twp.; son, Barry and wife Kelly of Endwell, NY; 2 grandchildren, Lauren and Erich; brother, Max of Dexter, Maine. Predeceased by his wife Helen L. in 2009 and a brother Richard in 1942.

Eldon was born in 1924. He is survived by his son Rick and daughter-in-law Judie. He has gone to meet his wife Barbara who passed away two years ago. Eldon lived all his main life in Carseland as he ran his own butcher shop. He was, as his daughter-in-law said, "a real gentleman". He cared for everyone and never had a bad thing to say about anyone he knew. He loved writing and taking pictures which he did all his life. He loved to tell stories about his times and was always available to tell anyone about history, which he loved.

She was born in Irvington, N.J., on November 30, 1928, a daughter of the late Raymond D., and Myra (McGuirk) Bonitz and lived in Fitchburg most of her life.
Her husband of 49 years, Thomas R. Leary Sr., died on December 28, 1998.
She leaves six sons, Dennis Leary and Thomas R. 'Tim' Leary Jr., and his wife, Mary Lynn, all of Fitchburg, Patrick Leary, and his wife Julie, of Leominster, Robert 'Bobby' Leary, and his wife, Brenda Lee, of Noblesville, IN, Shaun Leary, and his wife, Melissa, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Michael Leary, and his wife, Cindy of Attleboro, MA; two daughters, Jeanne Lord, and her husband, Bruce, of Leominster, and Elizabeth Dickey, and her husband, David, of Fitchburg; two brothers, Robert Bonitz of Fitchburg and Edgar Bonitz of Ashburnham; one sister, Myra Cannon of Fitchburg; 21 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy Leary was a former member of St. Bernard's Parish, was a 1946 graduate of Athol High School and attended the former Burbank Hospital School of Nursing. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed frequenting the casinos at Foxwoods, Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Born in Windber, PA on August 23, 1917, she was the daughter of Alex and Antonia Chess.
She was a parishioner of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Highland and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her daughters, Antionette Lupo and her husband, Angelo of Long Island and Jean Ose and her husband, Gustave of Highland; grandchildren: Caralyn Prendys of Wallkill, Andrew Lupo and his wife, Gina of Long Island, Gustave Ose and his wife, Stephanie of Highland, Michael Ose and his wife, Jean of Connecticut, and Cathy Lupo of Long Island. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Courtney, Christopher, Dylan, Frank, Brandi, Jacqueline, Adrianna, Dianna, Nicholas, Alexandra and Robert.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by her sisters, Helen and Christina and her brothers, Alex and Joseph.

Mary was born in New Milford, CT, the daughter of John and Julia (Naboriny) Yarochowicz on Sept 4, 1937. She was a 1955 graduate of New Milford High and a 1959 graduate of Danbury State College (now Western CT State University) earning a bachelor of science in Elementary Education. She lived for 30 years in Norwalk, CT where she and her husband, Edgar D. Bonitz, Sr., met teaching elementary school.
Mary left teaching, to raise her family of seven children and to make a home that was welcoming to all, especially her children and their many friends in the neighborhood. She especially loved to entertain and celebrate life's milestones and holidays, marking every occasion with festive parties, decorations and home-baked goodies. Mary, grandmother of 11, was a patient listener and confidant, and a tireless advocate for her children and grandkids. She was never too busy to hold and comfort a child.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mary is survived by three brothers, John Yarochowicz of Milbrook, NY, Michael Yarochowicz of Mission Viejo, CA, Albert Yarochowicz of Salinas, KS and a sister, Helen Hunt of Katy, TX, her daughters Margaret Bonitz and son-in-law, Joe Ribeiro of New Milford, CT, Arlene Bonitz of Palm Harbor, FL, Lizz Greenberg and son-in-law, Steve Greenberg, of Tampa, FL, Myra Bonitz of Douglasville, GA, Laura Bonitz and Roberta Bonitz, both of Ashburnham, MA and a son, Edgar D. Bonitz, Jr. of Norwalk, CT. In addition to her 11 grandchildren, Mary is survived by more than 30 nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Francis (Frank) Yarochowicz.

Barbara lived most of her life in Carseland where she ran the post office for many years. She loved animals and was a wonderful caring person who will be sadly missed by all. She and Eldon have lived in the Wheatland Lodge for the last three years.

Ludwig Bonitz was born on October 8th, 1936 in Gotha to Karl and Lotte Bonitz. He was a painter and designer. Before his retirement in 2002 he taught at design colleges in Heiligendamm and at the university of Wismar. His main achievements are in advertising, marketing, graphical design and print graphics.
Ludwig died of a heart attack during a vacation in Cuba. He was married and is survived by five children: Kay, Anne and Max Bonitz, Ariane and Marc Pfannschmidt; and a twin brother Wolfgang.

Born in New York City on 1 Jan 1913, she had been a resident of the Capital Region for many years. She was a homemaker. She was a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary of West Palm Beach, Fla., Chapter 3490. Sylvia held all of the offices including madam president.
She is predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Carmella Fresina; her husband, Arthur F. Bonitz Sr.; two sisters and three brothers. Sylvia is survived by three daughters, Sylvia M. Dobrowski of Hudson, Patricia A. Farrell of Watervliet, Lorraine F. (John) Nicosia of Hendersonville, N.C.; one son, Arthur F. (Wendy) Bonitz Jr. of Howell, N.J.; and three sisters. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Frieda was born Dec. 29, 1911, at Appleton, Minn., the daughter of Albin and Martha (Schneider) Bonitz.
On June 24, 1931, she married Wilhelm H. Koosmann at Mellen. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Cozy Valley Homemakers. She was also the Cozy Valley news reporter of the Mellen Weekly Record for many years.
She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mellen.
Surviving are her children, Lloyd (Mary) of Ashland, Norbert (Joyce), Ken, Donald (Annette), all of Mellen, Shirley (Al) Heglund of Aurora, Minn., Sylvia Heglund, Ruth (Al) Josephson, both of Mellen, Leila (Bruce) Bernard of Eau Claire and Joyce (David) Kaseno of Barron; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Meiselwitz of Kiel and Edna Becker of Castro Valley, Calif.; and a brother, Walter (Dorothy) Bonitz of St. Paul, Minn.

He was one of the first people to help Mrs. Tack with her rose garden in Spencer. He was a senior account manager for CUNA Mutual Group. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Plover, where he served as Sunday School superintendent.
Gary is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Bonitz of Stevens Point; his mother, Joan Bonitz of Spencer; two daughters, Rainy Day (Thomas) Worzella of Stevens Point and Mindy Joel (Christopher) Cooper of Mosinee; two adopted sons, Niron Bonitz of Wausau and Scott Bonitz of Merrill; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lou Ann (Glen) Dahlke of Mosinee and Lynn Martin of Mellen; and one brother, Bruce (Sheri) Bonitz of Spencer. He was preceded in death by his father.

Carolyn Durr was born to Aubrey and Thelma Bonitz at Oklahoma City, Okla., on June 14, 1934. Her family later moved to Albany where she graduated from Albany High School. It was in high school that she met David Durr. They were married in 1954 while he was serving in the U.S. Marines. They spent the first year and a half of their marriage at Albany. From Albany they moved to Corvallis and in 1972 they moved to Halfway with their five children.
Carolyn was an exceptional mother and grandmother, an avid gardener and an important member of her church, all while managing the family businesses. She was the favored destination for 10 grandchildren whom she wrapped with love and wool hats.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Heather Durr, who died in 1988. Survivors include her husband, David; daughters, Kim Durr of Mountain Home, Idaho, Karen Hearne of Halfway and Fawn Robertson of Baker City; her son, Shawn Durr of Halfway; a sister, Linda Bowen of Hillsboro; and a brother, Joe Bonitz of Albany.

Rudy was born March 27, 1911 in Alberoda, Germany, the son of Karl F. and Elsa M. (Untgadeem) Bonitz. He moved with his family to the United States at the age of two. On April 26, 1933 he was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Brand at Mellen.
He was a dairy farmer in the Cozy Valley area and worked at the veneer mill in Mellen for many years. He enjoyed walking and also making wood.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Marie (Melvin) Krause of Highbridge, and Renette (Robbin) Brand of New Franken; one son, Reginald (Ruth) of Mellen; 10 grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy and two granddaughters, Jennifer Brand and Raylene Bonitz.

Jörg passed away at his home after a long illness. He was the only son of Hermann Max Bonitz and Gertrud Bonitz (nee Mann). He is survived by two sisters, his wife, two children, Jochen and Katja, and three grandchildren, Levin, Niklas, and Amelie.
